About ReHabilitative Massage Therapy

Rochelle Homsma, BA, RMT

Rochelle Homsma RMT - Port Perry Ontario

Rochelle graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BA in Sociology specializing in criminology. Having a passion and natural interest in healthcare, Rochelle decided to resign from the corporate life to pursue alternative and holistic interests. This led her to attending Trillium College to study massage therapy. Rochelle passed the rigorous provincial exams through The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and remains in good standing with both the CMTO and the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

Having worked at Port Perry Hospital, different multi-disciplinary clinics as well as offering in-house treatments, Rochelle ultimately decided to open up her own private practice and in 2014, ReHabilitative Massage Therapy (the “R” and “H” stand for her initials) was established.

Rochelle is extremely passionate about helping people as a “whole”. This means addressing physical discomforts and ailments but also working towards teaching patients how to manage their own self-care while not receiving massage therapy; this helps with the mental load that can contribute to the physical manifestations as well. Treatments are derived on plans encompassing patient goals, current circumstances and navigating safe and effective treatments that are realistic for every individual’s lifestyle. Since not every “body” is the same but can manifest similar symptoms, every treatment session is always catered specifically for needs that patients are looking to address the day of their appointments; therefore no two treatments are ever the same.

Always excited to learn and to provide options of therapeutic care, Rochelle further studied a variety of modalities to compliment massage therapy. She is certified in Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Cupping Therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture, Medical Acupuncture and Reiki Healing (level 1, level 2 and Master). All of these modalities are performed within the massage therapy scope of practice and are covered and recognized by multiple insurance companies.

You can find Rochelle working from her home-based clinic, ReHabilitative Massage Therapy, located in the beautiful quaint town of Port Perry, Ontario. She is excited to help individuals work towards greater health, manage overall wellness and be functional to enjoy daily activities of living without pain and discomfort.

This is an all-inclusive and diverse clinic inviting people from all walks of life and of any age to experience therapeutic treatments to feel better.

New and existing clientele are always welcome.
